Lauren
Farrington After completing her dance training
at Greensboro Dance Theatre, Lauren Farrington went to Appalachian State
University to continue her dance career. While intensively studying modern,
ballet, jazz and pilates, she danced and choreographed for Appalachian
Dance Ensemble, a modern company based out of Boone, North Carolina, as
well as the North Carolina Dance Festival. In the summer of 2005, Lauren
completed her certification in Classical Pilates, and has since taught
group and private classes in Boone, NC and Greensboro, NC. Lauren loves
sharing her passion with students of all ages, and is sure to make every
class exciting and challenging. |
Kyle
Shukis began his training at the Hackworth
School of Performing Arts in Easthampton, MA where he was a competitive
competition dancer winning multiple national awards and titles. He continued
his dance education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a BFA
Dance major. After college he relocated to New York City where he toured
with the internationally known modern dance company Randy James Dance Works.
He also performed regularly with LKB Dance and Dance Council Movement Theater
and was a pick up dancer for multiple choreographers. During this time he
was the resident lighting designer at Broadway Dance Center as well as for
numerous dance companies in New York City. Kyle works extensively as a master
teacher and choreographer a both studios and performing arts high schools
as well as on a University level. He is currently on faculty for the Radford
University Dance Department where he teaches contemporary jazz, history
and philosophy of dance and dance appreciation. He also choreographs for
them regularly as well as teaches for their international summer program.
Kyle conducts master classes at and sets choreography on studios across
the US and has guest taught at multiple universities including Muhlenberg
College in Pennsylvania, University of Massachusetts, Trinity College in
Connecticut, Rutgers University in New Jersey, James Madison University
in Virginia, as well as for the American College Dance Festival for the
past three years. |
