Asher Walker grew up in the small town of Rocky Mount, VA. Although he was raised in a rural area where hip hop wasn't popular, he pursued this unfamiliar genre with much interest and enthusiasm. As he began to further develop his skills and familiarized himself with hip hop his passion for dance in general grew. During high school Asher was able to balance his academic and dance opportunities with much success. In the Fall of 2010 he auditioned in Atlanta for SYTYCD and made it to Vegas Rounds. He made it through 4 of the choreography rounds before being cut in the 5th. He was one of the top 50 dancers who auditioned for season 2011. Congrats. Asher has just graduated high school and will be attending James Madison University in the fall with a partial dance scholarship. He plans to major in dance from JMU and then move to LA to pursue his dance career as far as it will take him. |
